Lorenzo
Vicino.

Software engineer from Italy. I build platforms that have to stay up — and, after hours, engines, caches and tooling that teach me why they don't.

WHAT IT DOES

Act one is alpha-beta with the usual suspects — move ordering, transposition table, quiescence — and an evaluation written by hand. Act two replaces that evaluation with a neural net whose accumulator updates incrementally as moves are made and unmade. Measured Elo and perft results are published as a live card.

NOTE TO SELF

The engine keeps its own score. Hard to argue with a number.

NAME
lorenzo vicino — software engineer, Italy
DESCRIPTION
Backend-leaning full-stack engineer. Days are spent on a fleet-management platform where uptime, data volume and messaging matter; nights on the systems I want to understand from the inside — a chess engine, a Redis-compatible cache, a multi-repo command center. Obsessed with design patterns and with code that is boring to read on purpose.
EXPERIENCE

now

GTFleet 365 — platform

Fleet telematics platform: services, integrations and dashboards used by operators daily.

Let's talk
about the hard part.

Roles, contract work, or an argument about whether NNUE was worth it. I answer everything.
